The Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (NRC1996) is not only an integral component of the PHS Policy, which governs the care of laboratory animals in PHS-conducted and supported resaerch, but also is the main resource used by AAALAC's Council on Accreditation.  The Guide covers all species of vertebrate animals.
